The newest Abita brew takes its name and inspiration from the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans. Looking for Indians on Mardi Gras Day is a tradition for many New Orleans families. A cultural phenomenon familiar to residents of the Crescent City, the Mardi Gras Indians are not well known to outsiders and Abita is proud to help share their story with the world.

Appearance:
Light Molasses Color
Thin Bubbly Head
Decent Retention
Decent Ring Lacing
Bottom Carbonation Explodes Upwards

Aroma:
The Aroma Was Basically Shit, I Did Not Want To Smell This Beer.
Did Not Have That Nice Apricot Smell, That Most IPA's Have.
Funky Cabbage
A Dumpster
Hop Notes
Malt Notes
Just A Hint Of Apricot, When You Get Around The Funky Smell.

Mouth Feel:
Sweet Upfront And Bitter On The Back End.
Sweet/Bitter Balance
Light Bodied
Watery Mouth feel
Decently Refreshing
Not A Complex Beer

Taste turned out not to be as hoppy as I would have liked. This beer has a weird after taste that I can't identify. Starts out sweet when it touches your lips and it hits you with a bitter finish. The sweet candy taste upfront and vegetables in the back end. This isn't a complex beer and it is nothing to write home about.

1 Out Of 6
Don't Want A Sixer
